Updates

More Features

Well we have more features,

  1. New formatting codes added to the description field. **Bold** --Italic-- and __Underline__ will be converted to HTML5 codes Bold, Italic and Underline. You can use **__combination__** to give a **--__impact__--**. The codes will work over multiple lines so check with the preview that it is formatted correctly, you can copy the codes to make sure you have the right ones. Abuse will result in adverts being deleted.
  2. New photo upload system that will use the inbuilt camera function of phones and tablets, check the images as you need to correct the pictures if they are not rotating correctly. Bad images will be removed.
If you are getting a blank page with just a logo the images failed. Try using a copy saved to your computer and not a webshare. The server can only use web safe jgp, gif or png images and not viseos. If you see a page with only the logo after uploading the images it faid to upload the photo due to restraints so please used saved images of less than 10MB each in that case.
  3. Web URL links have been updated to allow the newer TLD (Top Level Domains) and allow the number domains. It will now search for the links in the details text adding a https:// to any it finds to help avoid weaker links. It will also pick up typo's like no space after a full stop, so we request checking the preview of your advert and using the edit button to correct mistakes.
  4. Use correct sentience formatting rules, a space after the colon: semi-colon; comma, full stop. and exclamation! characters. URL address will use words with dots between the words without spaces and if the system sees these it will treat them as URL links. So please use the preview, it allows you access to the edit button, to change the mistakes otherwise the adverts will just be removed.
  5. NEW! logo after 10 years the tread board needed repainting, if any remember the old Green text logo might remember how the tread patten ended up becoming the background. The photos have also been upgraded to add logo's and date/time stamps to the images on upload so that the photos are noticeable for people linking to them.

Wanted: Optically flat mirror

Sat 20th Feb '21

Advert ID: 39432

Measuring Equipment
Details:
I'm looking for a first surface mirror to use as a reflector for an autocollimator. Must be first surface (mirrored surface on the front) and ideally at least 1/2 wave up to 1/10 wave (or better) but really I'll consider anything that's suitable to get me going even if it's damaged or chipped.

If anyone has a mirror on a heavy sled/base or mount in any way similar to the ones in the attached pic then I would be very keen to talk you you about buying it since it'll save me making one.

I'm looking for other associated items related to machine alignment and metrology. Working condition is more important to me than cosmetic.

Thanks
Pete.

Wanted: 18DP Change Gears for Metric Screwcutting on the Regal 10.5"

Wed 17th Feb '21

Advert ID: 39412

Tools & Parts (Small tooling)
See all ads from Gary Of Ashfield
Details:
I have to cut some metric threads on my 1940's Leblonde Regal - which is a problem because the gear quadrant has fixed centres so only the 'mandrel gear' can be changed causing all the ratios available through the QC gearbox to be varied.
A lot of spreadsheet work has shown that a selection of alternate gears will produce most of the common metric pitches

So I require 34, 35, 45, and 61 tooth gears in 18dp preferably with a 5/8 bore with keyway (although I can modify)
This set of 4 gears cuts everything from 0.2-10mm pitches with errors less than 1% except 1.75,3.5,7.
Alternatively 51,52,53,54 gives useful coverage, some with 0.1% inaccuracy.

If anyone has a Regal I'm happy to share the spreadsheet.
If no-one has any spares, I may make the gears so might make a spare set if you have the same problem.

I am working in the office this week so please telephone after 6pm

Information: Meddings & EMCO hammered blue finish

Tue 9th Feb '21

Advert ID: 39382

Machines (Large Tooling)
Details:
Does anyone have a Meddings and an EMCO machine (any type) in their original hammered blue paint finishes? If so, can you tell me how close they are in colour?
I want some paint to match my 1970's Meddings drill. I've seen Rustoleum 7321 recommended as a good match, but that is now discontinued.
Paragon paints have 2 hammered blues, the lighter of which is said to be a good match to EMCO blue. I haved asked Paragon, but they have never done a match to the hammered Meddings blue (they have the older, 1950's-60's, smooth blue/grey).
Thank you.

Wanted: D1-3 Faceplate

Tue 9th Feb '21

Advert ID: 39380

Tools & Parts (Small tooling)
Details:
Would anyone happen to have a D1-3 Camloc faceplate that needs a new home? 11" maximum diameter, ideally between 8 and 10" as it's going on my little Harrison M250.

Only required to skim the brake discs for my kit car so I'm reluctant to buy brand new as it will likely just sit under the bench happily ever after.

Happy to arrange courier collection at my own expense if that helps. It would be a reliable company, either UPS or DHL.

Thank you in advance.

Wanted: Warco Universal Cutter Grinder

Mon 8th Feb '21

Advert ID: 39375

Machines (Large Tooling)
Details:
I'm looking for one of the older Warco Universal Cutter grinders (the design has changed in the last couple of years). I would prefer the model that takes the 5C collets but would consider the R8 collet version. Warco's reference numbers for these were 20205C (5C model) , 2020R8 (R8 model) Hopefully with their optional tooling. I can scan and send a copy of the old catalogue page to assist with identification.
Please let me know if you have one that you no longer require / use. Not too fused if it doesn't have the collets as I can pick-up the specific ones that I need.
