Details: Does anyone happen to have a holddown finger for a Harvey Butterfly filing machine - or a scrap machine to act as a donor? The key requirements seem to be that it fits on a 15/16" post and has a copper or bronze tip. Pictures are attached of a complete machine (grey, from the internet), the similar roller finger (green, which I have) and the drawings of the missing parts. Many thanks in advance!

Machines (Large Tooling) Refurbished (Working but repaired)
Details: This is a 1958 Boxford lathe fitted with a BUD saddle and lead screw so can do power feed on the cross slide as well as along the bed separately from the lead screw nuts. So it has the full spec of a BUD model Boxford. The original lathe was 1958 and its V belt drive with 16 spindle speeds from 38 to 1300 RPM. The bed is in good order and I was impressed by its accurate when using it. It has a 41/2" swing and a no2 morse taper in the tailstock. There is a full set of imperial change wheels. Some of these gears have a bit of rust showing but all are usable. It also comes with a 4" 3jaw chuck with both sets of jaws. This runs dead true and all edges on all the jaws are mint and not damaged. There are two small notches on the chucks front corner on the body but these are not near the jaws slots and don’t affect its working. There’s a 5" 4jaw independent chuck as new which may have never done a job its so clean and tight. There’s a 71/2" faceplate. There’s a genuine Jacobs 1/2" capacity tailstock chuck with perfect jaws and action and a key to suit it. There’s a new boxed live centre made in Poland and a dead centre plus a no2 to no1 morse taper adaptor. The motor fitted is a single phase British one and the whole lathe is refurbished, repainted and tested. The base drip tray is 48" long by 20" deep. Collection from near Westerham Kent ideally but delivery may be available and arranged when a sale is agreed.

Details: Union Graduate bowl turning wood lathe single phase variable speed thou an inverter. Faceplate dia 500mm columns with a specify made tool support, and tool rest
Details: Well equipped and in very good mechanical order. On original stand, just three bolts to remove from stand if needed for transportation. Three phase motor running through a VFD, so runs from normal 240v single phase house mains. Very good mechanical lathe speed control using the original Raglan variable pulley as well as infinite speeds from the VFD. Collection only and suitable van, pick up or trailer would be needed to collect. A very reluctant sale due to lack of space as I have bought a larger lathe. It has always produced excellent work.

Details: I have a metric Myford 254 Plus lathe. I'm having difficulty with the gearbox and the selection of feeds. Some of which will not select and some do. Those that do are A 1,2, B 1,2 and C 3,4,5 the others will not engage when using the selector knobs. I have tried the usual spinning of the chuck while the drive is engaged and endless fiddling with the selector knobs but to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas? I've tried Myford but it's not their principal area of expertise having not had the need to strip a machine down. They do have gearbox spares though. Getting the gearbox off the lathe and dismantling it looks a challenge. Quite apart from diagnosing why it doesn't select the feeds, unless it's clearly damaged. Does anyone have any ideas of why it may not be working or how to remove and dismantle the gearbox? You may have the expertise or indeed any gearbox spares or a gearbox under the bench! I do have a manual so I can see the general arrangement. All ideas welcome. Thank you. Michael.

Details: I have been clearing a late friends house and found a small glass lathe, This is a specialised machine for scientific glass blowing, or the restoration of glassware or even repairing rare radio valves! Specifically for joining glass components by fusing or welding the joints with the use of oxy gas burners whist the two components are sychronously rotated between two opposed geared headstocks each with three jaw chuck having the jaws slotted to hold fibre extensions to hold the work. One headtock is sliding to allow length adustment and slight compression to complete the joint. I believe that some art glass artists also use them. The capacity is aboit 4.5" Centre height and a bit over 12" There are a couple of other torches with it. It will need a motor fitting (I probably have one) and a bit of TLC. It is heavy and I have removed the headstocks to bring the bed weight down to 50 Kg. It will need to be collected from South Somerset. I am loath to scrap it if anyone can make use of it. Many thanks for looking!

Details: I wanted to do an Imperial thread on my Viceroy recently but I found it was impossible, I've cut imperial threads before using the Spreadsheet on the Denford site for guidance. With the gears that I have I couldn't get within 10% of the thread I wanted. What I would like to get is a combination gear or possibly a 38T stud gear. If you can help at all I would like to hear from you.
Details: I have a PlanetCNC 4 axis motion controller with licence. Bought for a project that never materialised. Current price is £200+. £150 incl. postage. Currently fitted into a PlanetCNC control box with PSU`s for steppermotors and 4 axis jogging control. The control box seems to be unavailable at the moment but will sell for £150.incl. postage. All you would need is 3 or 4 stepper motors and you would have a full CNC system to retrofit a lathe or mill.
